The Quartets are nearing completion

Robin Highcock's project of writing a set of six string quartets is no entering its final stages. String Quartet no 5 has been revised and is awaiting final polishing but can be found under Works in Progress. The rough drafts of the1st 4th and 5th movts of String Quartet no. 6 can also now be found in the same place. This huge and exciting challenge has already produced a huge range of music and with the last quartets nearing completion the variety is even greater. Look out for the final versions!

Sinfonia no. 2

Sinfonia no. 2, originally performed in 2001 has been revised, with a new first movment and extensive rewriting of the fourth and second movements. This will be performed in March. The score is to be found under Orchestral - Symphony

Robin's project to write a set of six quartets is proceeding well. The 2nd the 3rd and 4th movments are complete and now wait revision, the 1st and 5th movements are proceeding well.

The concert of Robin Highcock's music at St. Martin's Church Salisbury was a great success. Supported by an enthsiastic audience the performers produced a vibrant musical evening showing the breadth and depth of Robin Highcock's music

The Seventeen Carol Book

All Robin's carol arrangements for upper voices have been brought together into The Seventeen Carol Book.
Look in Sacred Choral/Christmas. Versions for SATB will be available soon.

Updated and Revised Scores and mp3s

A lot of work has been done to provide listeners with much more more depth and detail.

Most scores are now complete and mp3s contain complete recordings.

If you don't have Scorch on your computer it is quite easy to download, or, alternatively you can listen to the mp3s of Robin Highcock's music.

Sound of Barra expanded

The Sound has Barra has now been expanded for a full-size orchestra. Various alterations hava also been made to the second section. The new scoring is 2Fl/Picc, 2 Ob/CA, 2Cl, 2 Fag, 4 Horns, 2Tpt, 3 Tromb, Tuba, Timpani, Percussion (1 player) and Strings. Look in Orchestral music under Sound of Barra (Full)

The Sound of Barra received its first performance on 8th March. Before a highly appreciative audience it received a confident performance from the Orchestra of the Godolphin School,.Salisbury.
